EuroDISH

EuroDISH project concludes "Europe needs a better infrastructure for food and health research"

During its three-year duration, EuroDISH has mapped and defined research infrastructures (RIs) in four areas of research related to food, nutrition and health. The project has identified Europe’s gaps and needs in RIs for studying food and health:

  • RIs in the research field of ‘status’ (S) and ‘health’ (H) are emerging;

  • There are major opportunities to improve RIs in the research field of ‘determinants’ (D) related to intake of food;

  • There is no specific RI that serves the needs of the food and health research community over the DISH research field as a whole.

For more information and to read more about the roadmap towards more connected food and health research read this summary article from EUFIC’s newsletter, Food Todayread this summary article from EUFIC’s newsletter, Food Today.

You can also listen to our podcast and hear Professor Pieter van't Veer, the scientific coordinator of the project, explain the key findings of EuroDISH, including what type of RIs are needed to advance the study of food and health and what the next steps should be now that the project is coming to an end.
